Unless you are living in a California shell, you know all about Prop 8. And if you have ever read this blog, you can probably guess where I stand on it. I have a feeling secondlastwish is on the same page with me – though she thinks anybody getting married is lame. It is pretty scary to me that they want to change the constitution just to add in some good ol’ discrimination. In my bubble I think “this will totally not pass”, but the truth is it is ahead in the polls and there are many folks out there who are in favor of it. The even scarier part is there are many people out there who don’t understand the full extent of what the proposition is, are swayed by the deceiving “yes” ads or just plain are against gay marriage but think a NO vote equals YES to gay marriage (which it wont! yet!)-will vote yest on this. So in the next few days, I am making it a personal goal to reach out to EVERYONE I know about this (including some very right leaning family). Let me start here with you!
Whew. So far this Mac (“No on 8″) and PC (“Yes on 8″) has been my favorite ad- though I wish they could get them on TV, or at least reenact them on SNL:
and one with the constitution

I think same sex couples should have the right to lame marriage too. Plus, honestly, other people just value the institution of marriage and I would never want to have MY values impede their ability to get married. (See what I did there?)
These commercials are awesome.
Next up, I will write about Prop 4.
